Billie Jean Doherty Knoch Obituary

Billie Jean Doherty Knoch, age 86, of Barnesville passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 in a Barnesville health care facility. Mrs. Knoch was a native of Pittsburgh, Penn. She was the daughter of the late Mr. William Edward Doherty and the late Mrs. Jean Black Doherty and was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James Richard Knoch, by six days. Mrs. Knoch had been a medical records clerk for Spalding County Hospital and was a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church in Griffin. Survivors include one son, James Edward (and Susan Kay) Knoch of Lawrenceville; two daughters, Barbara Jean (and Rodney) Bitner of Wilmington, N.C., and Patricia Ruth (and Robert ‘Bob’) Wright of Barnesville; seven grandchildren, Christopher Kahill Knoch of San Francisco, Calif., Tracie Elizabeth Elizabeth Garren of Suwanee, Thomas Michael Thrailkill of Monroe, James Matthew Wright of Barnesville, Robert Howard Wright of Barnesville; John Edward Wright of Atlanta and Richard Allen Wright of Detroit, Mich.; and eight great-grandchildren. A combined memorial service for Mrs. Billie Jean Knoch and her husband Mr. James R. Knoch was conducted Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. in St. George’s Episcopal Church in Griffin. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to either St. George’s Episcopal Church, 132 N. 10th St., Griffin, Ga., 30223, or to the First Baptist Church of Barnesville, 200 Zebulon St., Barnesville, Ga., 30204.
