This is about setting a timeline and related issues.’ Lamar County Primary School principal Mark Davis is stepping down at the end of the year to open a day care and after school ministry in Thomaston. The move will allow the him to take care of his son, who was diagnosed with a brain disorder that will leave him under his parents’ care for the rest of their lives. Superintendent Dr. Bill Truby read his letter of resignation aloud at the March 12 board of education meeting. Davis has worked here for 10 years and was known for his penchant for learning the names of each student in his school.
