Monroe county investigators are working a case in which a body was found in a car there Wednesday evening. The body was found near the intersection of Holly Grove Rd. and Hwy. 18. The full release from public information officer Allison Selamn-Willis of the MCSO follows: An unidentified man was found inside a vehicle today, February 29, 2012 in Monroe County. Passersby saw a vehicle parked off of Hwy.18 and called the Sheriff’s Office. Investigators arrived on scene around 6:00 p.m. and began an investigation. The vehicle has been towed to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office impound lot for processing and the deceased has been taken to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsy and identification, if possible. Cause and manner of death is unknown. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating this case and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
