Spalding authorities are investigating the death of a woman whose badly-decomposed body was found at a home at 144 Barnesville Road Sunday. The body was found when officers did a welfare check at the residence. A man who lived there is missing and investigators are searching for him. The man is identified as Vernon Thomas Young, 65. Young may be driving a green 1977 Ford Ranger pickup with a green camper shell. The truck bears the tag 3772 ARN. If you spot Young or the truck, call 911 immediately. UPDATE: Young has been found unharmed, according to Capt. Tony Ranieri of the SCSO.
