Tracy Bittner, who with her husband John has coordinated the Movies at the Ritz events, reported today that tonight’s screening of BOLT at the park has been cancelled and future events are in danger due to licensing issues. ”For the last couple of years, Movie Gallery sponsored this event and we were under their umbrella/license to allow the viewing of these movies in a public place to promote their business. Since we were not able to get them to renew their sponsorship this summer, we now have to buy a license to show these movies (just got the call today to either stop showing the movies or pay fines/fees). The license ranges from $200 to $400 per event depending upon the movie,” Mrs. Bittner said ”We are happy to volunteer our services but will not be able to continue this event until we are able to find another sponsor,” she added.
