Bomb threat suspect denied bond

Bomb threat suspect Lagarrious World, 26, was denied bond by Judge Karen Jackson after a brief hearing Wednesday morning in magistrate court here. More charges against World arose at the hearing. Authorities were led to World by tracing his phone. He had not deleted the numbers called to make the threats from the phone, The Herald Gazette has learned. He had seven counts of false public alarm lodged against him after his arrest Monday afternoon. An inspection of the phone led to an eighth count of false public alarm in connection with a bomb threat made to Rose’s on March 7, 2016. At the time of his arrest, World was tending 78 marijuana plants in containers near his front door at 514 Johnstonville Road. Authorities also seized a small amount of processed marijuana from him. Those infractions led to charges of felony manufacturing marijuana and possession of marijuana. World will be bound over to an upcoming grand jury. Meanwhile, he will remain in jail. For full coverage of the hearing and the additional charges, see the 5.24.16 print edition of The Herald Gazette.
