BPD officer run down at parade

BPD officer Freddie Crummie was struck by a vehicle driven by a female Gordon College student while directing traffic downtown following the LCCHS homecoming parade Thursday afternoon. Crummie was directing traffic at the intersection of Main, Market and Taylor streets downtown when he was struck. The driver who struck him was reportedly being tested for DUI. Crummie was taken by ambulance to Upson Regional Medical Center. He suffered a broken arm, cuts and bruises but those injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
