Bridge replacement will mean detour on heavily traveled County Line Road

The Department of Transportation has plans to replace the current bridge across Potato Creek along County Line Road in Lamar and Spalding counties. The current bridge, built in 1956, has been deemed inadequate.

The construction is expected to take a year and the road will be closed during that period. It will be barricaded at South 6th Street Extension on the west and Johnston and Macon roads on the east.

The detour will utilize Camp Road in Lamar County as the alternate route.

Legal advertising regarding the detour is published in the 8.15.23 print edition of The Herald Gazette.
