Bringin’ the heat baseball tourney on tap

The Diamond Trojans are as hot as the summer heat in their early games that have been played on their summer baseball schedule. Having already played approximately 13 games — including the Mary Person’s Bulldog Bash & the Watermelon Bash tournaments in Forsyth & Cordele, respectively — the Trojans stand at 10-2-1, with wins over Stockbridge (AAAA), Baldwin Co. (AAA), Howard (AA), Mary Persons (AAA), Worth Co. (AAA), Shaw (AAA), Early Co. (AA). The 2-losses came at the expense of Crisp Co. (AAA) & Spalding (AAA). The tie was with an Americus — Post 2 — an American Legion team. The Trojans will return to action on June 17th when they start play in their Bringin’ the Heat tournament at Aldora Field in Barnesville. The tourneywill be played at two venues and will run through (June 20t. Teams competing here in pool A will be Lamar Co., Marion Co., Paideia, Jackson, Stockbridge, Monticello and Spalding. Teams competing at Mary Persons in pool B will be Mary Persons, Upson-Lee, Schley Co., Henry Co. Woodland, Macon Co., Crisp Co. and Howard. The title game will be held here Saturday.
