Britton Cauthen laid to rest

Fallen firefighter Britton Cauthen was buried Monday afternoon in Greenwood Cemetery with full firefighter honors.Hundreds of mourners walked behind the firetruck bearing his casket to Greenwood Cemetery. The cortege passed under a giant American flag hanging from crossed aerial units from the Barnesville and Henry County fire departments.Cauthen, 33, died May 4 after a heroic battle with pancreatic cancer. He was a firefighter and ENMT with the Lamar and Henry County departments. The community’s firefighter of the year award is named in his honor.
