“It’s been ruled a homicide,” Pike County Coroner Terrell Moody said Friday of the recent death of Concord resident Jimmie “Buzz” Burousas Jr.Moody declined to release the cause of death, but he confirmed that the 60-year-old man died via homicide.Sheriff’s police found Burousas dead in his vehicle in the driveway of his rural home at 560 Caldwell Bridge Rd. on July 1.His wife, Teresa Mangham Burousas, was airlifted to Grady Hospital in Atlanta, but she was released just hours later. Mrs. Burousas told police that she was attacked by two men outside her home.Police then launched a search for two male suspects who reportedly left the Burousas property in a Pontiac Trans Am.The incident remains under investigation. No arrests have been reported.Mr. Burousas was the son of longtime former Lamar County chief magistrate judge Jimmie Burousas Sr. Mrs. Burousas is the daughter of Pike County Commission Chairman Doug Mangham.
