Jason Byars and Dr. Julie Steele are currently serving on the Ferst Foundation For Childhood Literacy State Board.Byars has also served as chairman of the state board. Byars is vice president of business development at Mas Energy LLC, an energy development firm. He has nearly 20 years of sales, business development and project management experience in the energy industry. He is the son of Susan Byars and the late Tony Byars of Barnesville. He is a graduate of Georgia Tech.Dr. Julie Steele currently serves as principal of Lamar County Middle School.
