Carl White

Carl White of Barnesville died early Saturday, July 11. Mr. Carl Anderson White Jr., age 82, of Barnesville passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015, at his home. Mr. White was born July 12, 1932 in Terra Ceia, Florida, son of the late Carl Anderson Sr. and Iola Evans White. He attended Gordon Military College and was a graduate of LaGrange College and Illinois Gas Tech. He retired as a marketing engineer from Atlanta Gas Light Company and was a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves where he served for 14 years. Mr. White was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church and a member of Barnesville Rotary Club. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Claudine Pippin White; two daughters, Elizabeth Carlette White Davidson and husband, Seth Ray, Sr., and Pippa Lee White Davis and husband, Jay, all of Barnesville; four grandchildren, Rachael Ann Davidson Long and husband, Johnny, Seth Ray Davidson, Jr. and wife, Palmer, Jackson Hugghins Davis, and Pippin Lee Davis; great-grandson, Brogen Carl Long; sister, Linda Lee White; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Horace and Jane Pippin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Horace Roscoe and Pearl Keadle Pippin. Funeral services for Mr. Carl Anderson White, Jr. will be held at 2:00 Monday at the First Baptist Church of Barnesville with Rev. Garth Forster officiating. Interment will be at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with remarks by Horace Pippin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00. In-lieu of flowers the family respectfully request that contributions be made in memory of Mr. Carl Anderson White, Jr. to either Friends of the Barnesville-Lamar County Library, 401 Thomaston Street, Barnesville, GA 30204 or the First Baptist Church, 200 Zebulon Street, Barnesville, GA 30204.
