Cary E. Parker

Cary E. Parker, 73, of Macon, GA, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022.  The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel with the Reverend David Dawson officiating.  The family will greet friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. prior to the service.  Burial will follow the service at Cedar Ridge Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity. 
Son of the late Roy Franklin and Rachel Haywood Parker, Mr. Parker was a graduate of Milner High School and Georgia College and State University. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired as a Captain with Macon Police Department with 33 years of service. He was a referee for high school and college football and volunteered as a coach for recreational youth sports.  Mr. Parker was a member of Hold’em Hook Fish Camp, Fraternal Order of Police, Veterans of Foreign War, and Peace Officers Association.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting.  His greatest passion was spending time with his grandchildren, cats, Rusty and Fluffy, and his dogs, Chipper and Bailey. 
Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Parker and grandchild, Rancin Hatcher. 
Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alice Andrews Parker of Jones County; children, Cindi Skinner Hatcher of Macon and Greg Parker of Milledgeville, Georgia; grandchildren, Kayse Skinner, Harmoni Elliott, Nicholas Parker and Brooke Parker; and great grandchild, Kamden Adams.
