The Lamar County Trojans lost to the Callaway Cavaliers 73-61 Monday night in Roberta in the Region 5AA title game.Lamar led by three as the first half waned but Camden Foster was called for a foul and then hit with a phantom technical foul for “staring down” the man he fouled. Callaway hit four free throws to take a lead it never surrendered.Lamar lost key post player Adrian Butler to fouls with just over three minutes to play in the third period. From there, the Cavs used superior athleticism to put the game on ice. Callaway also seemed to get every call.The Trojans will host a first round state playoff game at the local gym Friday.
