CERT members search for murder evidence

Members of Lamar County’s CERT team were called in to assist with a massive Saturday search for evidence in the John Dixson murder case. The search was organized by the Lamar sheriff’s office and turned up one item that may be of importance in the brutal murder. CERT members joined law enforcement personnel from multiple agencies in working a gully under a bridge and the roadsides along Forsyth-Yatesville Road, west of Hwy. 341. Dixson’s cab was found Friday morning at the Jackson residence on Forsyth-Yatesvile Road. His body was found later that day just over a mile from that home. At last report, a suspect was being held for questioning and is expected to be charged. Though he has not been named by authorities, it is known that a manhunt was launched Friday for Jamarris Williams who was found at Fuller’s Trailer Park and taken in for questioning. Members of the Dixson family have said the cabbie was robbed and abducted and that Williams’ brother notified authorities after finding blood in his residence.
