The chamber of commerce will host its third annual golf tournament June 17 at Morgan Dairy Golf Club. Local attorney Bill Lindsey, a Civil War re-enactor, will fire his cannon to begin the tournament at 1 p.m.The fee is $60 per player including green fee, golf cart, range balls and lunch. Four players make up a team and seniors will play from senior tees. There will be prizes for best ball of foursome on holes one through six, two best balls of foursome for holes seven through 12 and four person scramble for holes 13-18. The lowest score total of all 18 holes wins.Door prizes will be pre-drawn so golfers can pick them up when returning from the course. All door prizes are donated by area businesses. Moore Chevrolet of Barnesville returns as the hole in one sponsor. Other major sponsors include First National Bank, United Bank, State Farm and Akins Farm and Home.
