The Chamber of Commerce will hold a Lunch and Learn session on health care reform Tuesday, Dec. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Southern Rivers Energy.”Health care reform is here,” said chamber director Amanda Rose. “The signing of the health care reform legislation by President Obama on March 23 and follow-up legislation will lead to dramatic changes in the landscape of health benefits law. It may well transform the American workplace.”Every employer that offers health insurance to their employees and every employee that wants to know how health care reform will affect their own health insurance during 2011 should attend.”Employers and plan sponsors are being constantly bombarded with lengthy analyses of the new laws, many of which don’t apply to their situation or won’t apply for several years,” said Rose. “In this 60-minute presentation, benefit attorneys will address these topics and be prepared to answer your questions. We’ll focus on what you need to do now or before the end of this year to make sure you and your company comply with health care reform. The session will be facilitated by Leah Singleton, an associate with McKenna Long & Aldridge. This Lunch and Learn is free to all members. Lunch will be provided and an RSVP is required by Dec. 10. To reserve a place today, call Amanda or Deidra at 770-358-5884.
