Chamber, LCCHS host career fair

On Tuesday, October 12, 2010, LCCHS will host the second annual ‘got skills?’ career fair in partnership with the Barnesville-Lamar County Chamber of Commerce. ’We are so excited to host the event,’ said Jan Adams, graduation coach at LCCHS. ‘We are promoting the fair here at school so the students are excited about attending. In classroom, we talk a lot about how their current training will provide them for the future. The career fair is a great way for students to learn from businesses how these skills are transferrable to employment opportunities.” Approximately 30 businesses have committed to participate and will provide representatives, displays and interactive information inside the gym for students. Additional representatives and displays will be located in the student parking lot including the Barnesville Volunteer Fire Department fire truck and other larger trucks and equipment used in various industries. ’We’re excited about the level of participation from local businesses but we still have plenty of room for any businesses that haven’t yet made the commitment’, said Amanda Rose, chamber president. For more information in this event, contact the chamber office at 770-358-5884.
