The Barnesville-Lamar County Chamber of Commerce has set two nights of political forums in advance of the July 31 general primary. The forums will be held Monday, June 25 and Thursday, June 28 at the Barnesville Civic Center. The June 25 lineup includes candidates for sheriff and the district three and four seats on the Lamar County commission. The June 28 slate will feature candidates for chief magistrate, the district 131 post in the state house of representatives and U.S. congress from district 3. Amberly Ferris is chairing the committee that will present the debates and questions for the candidates will be solicited. The forums will be moderated by Herald-Gazette publisher Walter Geiger.
