Chancellor to address GSC grads Friday

University System of Georgia Chancellor Hank Huckaby will deliver the commencement address to graduates at the Gordon State College Spring ceremony. The ceremony is set for Friday, May 8 at 8:30 a.m. on Lambdin Green at the center of campus. Of the 337 candidates for graduation, about 200 will march in the ceremony. The graduates, faculty and special guests will be led in a procession by a bagpiper, a nod to Gordon’s Scottish roots. Huckaby is no stranger to Gordon, having served as admissions director in the early 1970s. He has served as Chancellor of the USG since 2011. Following the ceremony on Lambdin Green, a ‘pinning’ ceremony for nursing graduates will be held in Alumni Memorial Hall. A Bell and Book ceremony will be held for graduates of the education program in the Fine Arts building.
