Chance’s old senate seat draws six candidates

Two more hopefuls have qualified for the District 16 seat in the state senate being vacated by incumbent Ronnnie Chance, running to total to five candidates – all Republicans. UPDATE: And, then, there were six! Another Republican has jumped into this race. The latest qualifiers are Griffin attorney W.G. ‘Bill’ Johnston and Tyrone pilot Gil B. Williams. Previous qualifiers were David Studdard, Marty Harbin and James Clifton. Lamar County is wholly included in District 16. UPDATE: Fayetteville builder D. R. ‘Bob’ Barnard qualified Thursday afternoon.
