Charles James “Chuck” Giles passed away on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012. Born in San Diego, Calif., July 27, 1956, Chuck was a boxer, an Eagle Scout, and served in the 48th Brigade of the National Guard. Chuck drove over a million miles as a long-haul truck driver for 27 years, CB handle “Refuge.” He loved his family, the outdoors, classic rock ‘n roll and a good smoke. Chuck was a tall man with a kind, quiet spirit who helped anyone he could and never had a cross word to say about his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Billy Joe Giles and Nancy Wallis Giles of Barnesville, Ga.; son Charles Kay Giles and daughter-in-law, Amanda Hayward-Giles of Macon; older brother Clifford Giles and sister-in-law, Willene Giles of Barnesville; younger brother, Mark Giles; and sister-in-law, Linda Giles of Hampton, Ga.; former wives, Marlene Giles and Debbie Kaupman; nephews, Joe Giles, Josh Giles and Seth Giles; nieces, Brittany Williams and Sarah Giles; and cousin, Dean Ogel. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Support America’s Wounded Warriors at USO.org.
