Charles W. Maddox

Mr. Charles W. Maddox Jr., age 66, of Thomaston died Monday night in the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Funeral services for Mr. Maddox will be held Friday, Aug. 22, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Yatesville Baptist Church. Rev. Terry Threadgill and Rev. Steve Maguire will officiate and burial will follow in the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Yatesville. The family will receive friends on Thursday night from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home. Mr. Maddox was born in Acworth, Ga., but he had lived in Yatesville since childhood. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam from 1967-68 where he was twice wounded and twice awarded the Purple Heart Medal. Mr. Maddox was employed with Continental Tire at the Aldora Mill in Barnesville as a department supervisor for 36 years. He was a member of the Yatesville Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jolynn Maddox of Thomaston; three sons, Mr. Heath (Amy) Maddox of Thomaston, Mr. Chad (Alicia) Maddox of Thomaston, Ga., and Mr. Billy (Meredith) Maddox of Zebulon, Ga.; brother, James L. (Lynn) Maddox of Yatesville, Ga.; four grandsons, Landon Maddox, Jake Maddox, Turner Maddox and Flynt Maddox. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
