Mrs. Charlotte Theresa Hopf Hoover, age 89, of Deland, Florida, formerly of Barnesville, passed away September 19, 2015, in a Florida healthcare facility.She was the daughter of the late Fritz and Emma Hopf of Nurnberg, Germany, and was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hamilton Hoover and a sister, Eleanor Hopf Katajama of New York. Mrs. Hoover was born in Germany and came to the United States as a military wife war bride, making her home on Poplar Street in Barnesville a number of years. She had worked as a homemaker and she and her husband owned and operated the Frosty Palace on Main Street in the 1960s. She was a member of the First Methodist Church choir, enjoyed sewing, knitting and volunteering as a Girl Scout leader.Mrs. Hoover is survived by two daughters: Monica Hoover Walters (John) of Barnesville; Marybel Hoover Dennis (Tim) of Deland, Florida; two sisters: Renata Hopf Congelosi (Joe) of Niceville, Florida; Helga Hopf of Malverne, New York; five grandchildren: Glen Walters (Angie) of Forsyth; Russ Walters (Nicole) of Barnesville; Julie Dennis-North (the late Dennis) of Deland, Florida; Holly Dennis-Peebles (Brandon) of Seattle, Washington; Megan Dennis-Bailie (Scott) of Augusta; and 12 great-grandchildren: Lauren Walters, David Dennis, Zara Viviera, Ivey Walters, Will Walters, Cole North, Aiden Peebles, Dylan Peebles, Cameron Peebles, Wyatt Walters. Willow Walters and Grayson Bailie.Celebration of life memorial services for Charlotte Hoover will be conducted at a future date in Deland, Florida.Any memorial contributions may be made to the SunnyGrove Loving Care Fund, 665 Gordon Road, Barnesville, Georgia, 30204.
