Chief appraiser Linda Mayo of the Lamar County Tax Assessors office resigned under pressure Friday afternoon. The Board of Assessors scheduled an emergency meeting for 3:30 p.m. Friday to discuss her severance package. The county commission has spent the last month or so cleaning house in the Board of Assessors office, having removed assessors Lisa Dziedzic and David Dodd and replacing them with Roger Hollandsworth and John Hamrick. Two more new assessors are expected to be appointed by the commission March 9.
