Citizens force tax retreat

Barring a last minute change of heart, the Lamar County commission will vote tonight to not increase its millage rate.UPDATE: The commission voted unanimously to implement the fire/EMS fee and leave the millage rate unchanged at 8.942 mills. The precise amount of the fire/EMS fee will be determined soon.It will impose a fire/EMS fee and cut services and salaries.Meetings on the matter are set for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the courthouse.
