The City of Barnesville has issued legal notice to possible descendants of those buried in the Wadsworth Cemetery that it will apply for a grave relocation permit in Lamar superior court. The city plans to move the remains and burial objects to Greenwood Cemetery with the ‘most respectful treatment of human remains’. The city originally applied to the county commission for a permit and got it. Descendants appealed, arguing that Lamar superior court was the proper place to seek the permit. Fulton County Judge John Goger ruled in their favor after a February hearing. The legal notice is published on page 5B of the 4.10.18 print edition of The Herald Gazette.
