The murder trial of Jennifer Clark is underway at the Butts County courthouse in Jackson. Proceedings began Monday with jury selection.A pool of 51 jurors was called for screening. Jury selection was expected to take most of the day.Before the trial began, Judge Tommy Wilson ruled in favor of The Herald-Gazette and will allow the newspaper to shoot still photographs in the courtroom.In a Herald-Gazette online poll, 189 of 256 respondents felt Clark should get the death penalty. Fifty-two favored a sentence of life without possibility of parole. Eight were for life with possibility of parole while seven said they felt Clark was innocent.Herald-Gazette reporter Kay Pedrotti is in the courtroom. Check back here often for updates.
