Authorities conducted a comprehensive search Dec. 23 in eastern Lamar County after a lead turned up in the investigation into the disappearance of Donald Clark. A state helicopter was called in and spent most of the afternoon searching to no avail. Additionally, a pond in the area was searched. The boat in the foreground is manned by volunteers with a cadaver sniffing canine. The boat in the rear was operated by a team from DNR that dragged the lake for a body. At 5 p.m., no sign of Clark had been found. Two other dogs worked the woods around the pond with teams of handlers.Sheriff Joe Buice spent most of the day in the woods conducting a foot search of the area. GBI investigator Cayce Ingalls was also on the scene. The search was expected to continue into the night.More details as they are forthcoming.
