Authorities conducted a comprehensive search Dec. 23 in eastern Lamar County after a lead turned up in the investigation into the disappearance of Donald Clark. A state helicopter was called in and spent most of the afternoon searching to no avail. Additionally, a pond in the area was searched. The boat in the foreground is manned by volunteers with a cadaver sniffing canine. The boat in the rear was operated by a team from DNR that dragged the lake for a body. At 5 p.m., no sign of Clark had been found. Two other dogs worked the woods around the pond with teams of handlers. Sheriff Joe Buice spent most of the day in the woods conducting a foot search of the area. GBI investigator Cayce Ingalls was also on the scene. The search was expected to continue into the night.
