Commission ranking seven administrator job candidates

The Lamar County commission spent much of the day March 11 interviewing seven candidates for the job of county administrator. Current administrator Bob Zellner is retiring but has agreed to stay on until his successor is named.The commission is currently ranking the job hopefuls they interviewed. No action was taken at Tuesday’s commission meeting. This was the subject of an executive session at a workshop meeting March 14.There is the possibility the county could engage specialists from the Carl Vinson Institute of Government to assist in the search and screening process.
