Concert slated at GSC fine arts theatre

The Gordon State College Recital Series continues Wednesday with a concert featuring Richard Harris on trombone with guest artist, Brandon Ridenour on trumpet. Harris is a member of the Grammy award winning contemporary music group the Metropolis Ensemble. He studied in London at the Royal Academy of music and at Indiana University where he was awarded the IU ‘˜Performance Certificate’ for his outstanding recitals. Born in New York and raised in Michigan, Ridenour began studying piano at the age of 5 with his father and trumpet at the age of 9 and throughout the years has frequently performed as a father-son duo with pianist, Rich Ridenour. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the Juilliard School in 2007, studying with Ray Mase and Mark Gould and is an alum of the Academy, a two year fellowship program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and the Weill Music Institute. The recital will be presented at the Gordon State College Fine Arts Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door and are $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, $5 students and $4 each for those in groups of 10 or more.
