Cone leads Diamond Trojans past Crawford

Senior right fielder Ben Cone hit a bases loaded triple to break a one-all tie in the sixth inning to help propel Lamar County to a 7-3 win over Crawford County in Region 5AA baseball Tuesday at Aldora Field.Marc English got the complete game win on the mound for the Diamond Trojans.Lamar County, now 11-6 for the season and 7-3 in region play, travels to Montezuma today to take on Macon County before returning to Aldora Field Thursday for a JV/varsity twinbill against non-region opponent Washington County.The JV game starts at four o’clock followed by the varsity game at 6:30 p.m.Lamar is in third place in 5AA, one game behind Callaway whom they host next Tuesday.
