A local contractor who was injured just before noon Thursday in a fall at a construction site in Barnesville is stable. Dana Washington fell 10-12 feet to the ground from either a ladder or a roof. He was working at the home of Jason Shirey at 314 Redbud Drive, according to reports. Washington suffered a severe laceration to the head and was lifeflighted to the trauma center at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. Shirey, who is at the hospital with Washington, reported at 2:30 p.m. the victim has, in addition to the laceration, two broken ribs and a partially collapsed lung but is listed in stable condition.
