Michael Stringer, the Griffin man who shot former Lamar sheriff Joe Buice in the face Friday, had an armory in his home at the time of the assault. Stringer was armed with two AK-47 assault rifles and had 14-15 other weapons and about 1000 rounds of ammo in his home. He was also undergoing psychiatric treatment. Stringer was shot dead at the scene. Buice, meanwhile, continues to recover. He has been removed from a ventilator and to a private room.
