Gordon has now released the following prepared statement: Student Stabbed in Fight Outside of Campus Bistro Two males got into an argument outside the Village Bistro Tuesday evening which escalated into one of the men, a student, being stabbed in the upper leg. The other man, who is a former student, ran away from the area and is being sought in the case.   The men are thought to be 18-20 years old. The argument broke out about 10:45 p.m. The injured man was transported by helicopter to a Macon Hospital. The former student was dismissed from campus three weeks ago for improper behavior. No other students were injured and the safety of the resident students, about 1,000 of them, is in no way compromised, according to Gordon College Police Chief Jeff Mason. An arrest warrant has been issued for Darryl Orlando Virden in connection with a fight that occurred Tuesday evening outside a café on the campus of Gordon College. Virden, 19, is accused of stabbing Kervens Sycin, 18, in the groin as the two continued an argument that allegedly had started earlier in the evening. Virden is a former student from Clayton County who was expelled three weeks ago for improper behavior.  Sycin is a commuter student from Cobb County. Sycin was taken by helicopter to a Macon hospital. He is expected to recover from his wound.  Virden has not been apprehended. ’We expect to issue additional warrants as the investigation continues,’ said Gordon College Chief of Police, Jeff Mason. ’There was another activity going on in a different area of campus and we had officers in that area,’ Mason said. ‘One officer heard a fight call transmitted over the radio and came to the scene of the stabbing. He immediately began to seek medical help for the young man.’ The Village Bistro is a cafè in one of the residential halls. Resident students often gather there for light snacks and visitation. Mason said there is little else that can be released since the investigation is in the preliminary stages. ’We are being assisted in the investigation by the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department and the Barnesville Police Department,’ Mason said.
