Corine ‘Medear’ High

Mrs. Corine ‘Medear’ High was born Dec. 14, 1926 to the late George Worthy and the late Fannie Mae Smith Worthy Byrd. She departed this life on Jan. 20, 2014 at Christian Ministries Hospice in Griffin, Ga. Mrs. High was a member of Parker Chapel AME Church. She attended Monroe County public schools. Corine worked for the Holiday Inn in Forsyth, Ga., as a housekeeper from 1970 until retiring in 1999. She loved her dogs and cats. They were her children. Corine was united in holy marriage to the late James High Jr. To this union, four children were born. She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Robinson (Bobby Dean Robinson) of Milner, Ga., Mrs Loretha Ponder (Bryant Ponder) of Culloden, Ga., Ms. Lillie Ruth Robinson of Lithia Springs, Ga., and Ms. Minnie Frances High of Culloden, Ga.; half-brothers, Mr. Fred Byrd, Mr. Edward Byrd and Mr. Andred Byrd (Lillian) all of Culloden, Ga.; and one brother-in-law, Mr. John Lee High (Mrs. Mary Lizzie High) of Forsyth, Ga. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 at 11 a.m. at West Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Barnesville, Ga. Rev. David Blalock will officiate.
