The Lamar County commission will consider multiple appointments at its regular meeting Jan. 13. Also up for discussion is altering the commission meeting schedule from two meetings per month to oneChanges are certainly coming on the industrial development and solid waste authorities. Former commissioner Gene Hardwick served on both those boards and must be replaced. Chairman Jay Matthews is expected to be appointed to replace Hardwick on the IDA.Also up for reappointment is veteran IDA member Bruce Akins.Individual commissioners will be appointed to liaison with various county departments. Other appointments on the agenda are those for vice chairman, administrator, attorney, physician, chaplain, 911 committee, McIntosh Trail RDC, board of assessors, DFACS board, senior citizens committee and the recreation advisory council.The meeting is set for 7 p.m. at the courthouse.
