After removing assessor chairman Lisa Dziedzic from office Jan. 28, Lamar County commissioners began action to reduce the number of assessors on the board from five to three. Commissioners held a first reading of the proposed code; the issue will not be finalized until a second reading. It would also limit the assessors’ powers to those provided for in Georgia statutes.
