Gretchen Ellerby, the Lamar County’s commission’s office manager, payroll clerk and human resources director, has been suspended. Commission chairman Jay Matthews reported Thursday night that Ellerby is suspended without pay until August 30. ”We are investigating some matters brought to my attention this week,” Matthews said. “I don’t expect her to return to work for the county.”
