Benefits are being planned for a husband and wife who were life flighted Sept. 11 to an Atlanta hospital after crashing their motorcycle on Reidsboro Road.Timothy ‘Bubba’ Taylor and Jessica Taylor of Concord both sustained serious injuries from the wreck after losing control of the bike in a curve.Jessica works for First Bank of Pike and is the daughter of Superior Court Judge and Pike County resident Mack Crawford. Timothy used to work for the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.Community members are coming together to raise money to help the couple out and donations can be made at First Bank of Pike to help with expenses during recovery from the wreck. A motorcycle ride to benefit the family is being planned. For more information about the ride, contact James Holmes at JHolmes1512@gmail.com or Scoot Schafin at 706-977-9070. Tim is currently a Meriwether County deputy and his co-workers are coordinating with area motorcycle clubs to sponsor a benefit ride. All of the funds from the ride will go directly to Tim and Jessica Taylor. ’These two wonderful people are at this time recovering, hopefully for the better. A lot of things are unclear right now,’ said Holmes. ‘One thing is clear, their road to recovery is going to be paved with hard times. They have a child, a very young child, and with both of them injured, they won’t be working for some time. If people want to help but don’t have a motorcycle they can see John Barker at First Bank of Pike.’Tim was released from the hospital Sept. 13 but Jessica is still in intensive care at Grady. Tim’s injuries included a dislocated wrist, a broken collarbone and road rash to his arms and face. Jessica’s injuries included a broken pelvis, fractured vertebrae in her neck and back, a punctured lung, a broken jaw, moderate brain trauma and many cuts and abrasions to her arms and face.
