Lamar countians who have not paid their ambulance/fire fee bills may soon find themselves with a summons to appear in magistrate court, according to commissioner Jimmy Hearn’We have no choice,’ he said. ‘We set it up so owners could pass the fees on to their renters, but they’re telling us they can’t collect them.It’s also a lot of work on the girls in the office.’Commissioner Charles Glass said about 55% of the larger bills have been paid, while about 70% of the smaller ones have been received.’The fees can’t go away without a millage increase,’ Glass said.
