Sheriff’s investigators and deputies have determined a car that crashed into a tree on Fredonia Church Road near the C&B convenience store at approximately 2:30 p.m. Thursday was stolen.The driver lost control of the car, hit the tree and a utilities device and suffered minor injuries. It was determined his driver’s license was suspended. Radio traffic indicated the car was stolen from a yard in the area earlier in the day.Sgt. Shannon Williamson responded to the call and subsequently called investigators to the scene.After the driver, a black male identified as Charles Travis, was taken to an area hospital it was determined the car had been stolen from a Ricky Walker – Travis’ roommate. It was also learned Travis was wanted by Butts County on various charges.Investigators expect to charge Travis with multiple offenses.
