Crawford murder suspects have hearings set in Upson

By Walter Geiger The two suspects in the murder of Roderick Crawford, 46, of Barnesville have hearings upcoming in Upson County superior court. Crawford disappeared Dec. 29. His SUV was found in Clayton County Jan.1. His body was found behind a trailer in the Lincoln Park area of Thomaston on Jan. 3. He had been shot to death. Authorities say Crawford contacted Kiera Michelle Williams, 18, through an online escort service prior to his death. She and Cameron Montez Jones, 20, are charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and kidnapping in what could be a death penalty case. According to Griffin circuit district attorney Ben Coker, statutory bond hearings for both suspects are on the Upson court calendar. Jones will go before a judge at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 29. Williams’ hearing will be held at 9 a.m.on Feb. 4.
