David Anderson Burt

David Anderson Burt, 69, longtime resident of Barnesville, Lamar County, passed away April, 25, 2023.

David was born in Thomaston on October 4, 1953. His mother, Lou E Sewell Burt, originally from Thomaston, and father, Corry L. Burt, Jr, originally from Concord, both longtime residents of  Barnesville, predeceased David.

David owned and operated Infinity Woods for several decades, servicing Central Georgia, until his retirement in 2021. Since his first ride on a surfboard in his early teens in Cocoa Beach, Florida, David’s lifetime passion for the surf was born. He and his best friend, James Athan, rode waves from Florida to the Bahamas, Mexico, Hawaii and Indonesia. David could often be seen around town in one of his many tropical shirts.

Survivors include his wife, Victoria K. Warren Burt; his step children, Donnie King and Vanessa King (and husband, Steven Gibson); his step grandchildren, Joshua King and Jacob Gibson; his sister, Diane Burt Wellner (and husband Tom Wellner); niece, Leigh A. Baldwin Waldis (and husband, Richard Waldis) and their children, 1st Lt Zachary D. Waldis, USAF, Kathryn L. Waldis, and Olivia G. Waldis; and niece, Stephanie L. Weglarz (and husband, Dennis Machado).

David also leaves behind several cousins, extended family, business associates, and great friends. He will be missed by many. RIP, David.
