The 2013 Lamar County delinquent property tax sale will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 on the courthouse lawn beginning at 10 a.m. As of press time, the tax commission office had posted 50 properties for the upcoming sale. The number is expected to drop as the sale draws closer. ’We began with over 519 properties, which is down from last year’s numbers by 174 parcels, about a 25% increase in our collection rate,’ said tax commissioner Andrea Anthony. This year there is a mobile home tax sale on Tuesday, Nov. 5. ’We started out with seven mobile homes going up for sale and now only have three left on our schedule,’ said Anthony.
