The Delphi Trio is the next performance in the Gordon State College Concert Series.Playing violin, cello, and piano, the ensemble will present its special take on chamber music at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25 in the Gordon State College Fine Arts Theatre. Bringing music with ‘varied types of instruments’ is a goal for James Wallace, associate professor of music and coordinator of the Concert Series. ’Our scope is limited, so no orchestras,’ Wallace said. ‘But we do want to bring in differing, small groups.’ Many students and local residents, have not had the opportunity to experience a live classical music performance. The aim of the Concert Series is to make that experience accessible. ’We’re off the beaten path. To see a show, one would have to travel to Macon or Fayetteville, or north to Atlanta,’ Wallace said. Tickets for the Delphi Trio are available at the door the night of the performance and are $10 general admission and $7 for senior citizens.
