Lamar deputies working on I-75 on October 15 seized 22 pounds of high-powered, hydroponically grown marijuana worth $112,000 following a routine traffic stop. Such marijuana is grown using little to no dirt and is easy to cultivate indoors. Two persons, Aylet Dominquez-Alvarez and Anthony Santana, were arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana by deputies from sheriff Larry Waller’s ICE (interstate criminal enforcement) team.
