As reported here earlier, sheriff’s investigators spent the day May 26 working an alleged home invasion at 271 Shadowmore Drive off Crane Road near the Pike County line. Two Hispanic males who lived a the home where they claimed the robbery occurred have been arrested.Sheriff Larry Waller reported one occupant of the Shadowmore Dr. residence, Jonathan Perry Cruz, reported a home invasion at 7:30 a.m. Cruz, 29, said the invaders stole his wallet and a white Chevy S-10 pickup. While working the scene, investigators found a stolen Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a high end plasma television, also stolen. They also recovered the wallet Cruz claimed had been stolen.Cruz was subsequently arrested and charged with theft by receiving stolen property. Another man who lived at the residence, 23-year-old Padron Eliseo Gonzales, was charged with theft by receiving a stolen vehicle. Both men are in the Lamar jail awaiting a first appearance bond hearing. A lookout has been issued on the missing pickup but the claim of a home invasion appears to be dubious at this point.Late this afternoon, what appeared to be a new or nearly new white Humvee was parked in the garage at the Shadowmore Dr. home. The investigation is ongoing.
