The LC Diamond Trojans, coached by Mike Oberg, won two of three games last week to run their record to 5-2 for the young season.Last Wednesday, LC topped Putnam County 8-6. Collin Thompson got the win for LC, going six innings, striking out three and allowing seven hits. Michael King led LC with four hits. Logan Sharpton had two RBIs for Lamar.On Saturday, LC split a doubleheader with Bethlehem Christian. LC fell in game one 3-2 on a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth. Sharpton started the game and went 6.1 strong innings, striking out five. He also had three hits while King added two.Lamar bounced back in the nightcap, recording a 14-2 win. They blew the game open with a 10-run outburst in the top of the sixth.Drew Stout was on the mound for LC and went six innings, recording seven strikeouts and allowing only three hits. Jonah Stout helped out his brother with four hits and four RBIs. King had three hits and two RBIs. Hunter Deaton also added two hits.The Diamond Trojans host Crawford County Wednesday and Monticello Thursday at Aldora Field. Both games start at 5:30 p.m. LC is at Taylor County Friday. That game begins at 3 p.m.
